YouthCare now offers YouthCare members individual YMCA memberships at no cost.
Membership includes access to YMCA facilities throughout Illinois. The Illinois State Alliance of YMCAs represents more than 800 YMCA locations impacting more than 150 communities.
With a YMCA membership, youth in care and former youth in care can access:
- Gyms
- Swimming pools
- Fitness classes
- Local programming
- Before and after school care (eligible members must be between the ages of 6 and 18)
Youth must complete a health risk screening, annual wellness visit, and BMI measurement to be eligible for membership and care.
“YouthCare is excited about this partnership with YMCA to promote healthy lifestyles by providing youth and former youth in care access to YMCA’s innovative programs and activities. By joining forces, we will support the overall physical and mental well-being of our members and their foster families,” says Marc Fagan, Psy.D., YouthCare Plan President.”
